What began as a routine animal abuse call in Toledo, Ohio, quickly unraveled into a horrifying case of child endangerment. Responding officers were overwhelmed by a putrid odor upon arrival, prompting further inspection of the residence. Inside, they found 13 children, all under the age of 14, living in filthy and insect-infested conditions. The home was filled with animal and human feces, lacked food, and had a non-working bathroom. Officers reported children with visible bug bites and described the scene as one of “extreme neglect.” Three adults — Angel Lambert, Cassandra A. Lambert, and Angel Oliveri III — were arrested and charged with multiple counts of child endangerment. All pleaded not guilty but were released pending further proceedings. The children were immediately removed and placed with a family member, as authorities issued no-contact orders to protect them. What started as a concern for animals ultimately uncovered a dangerous and heartbreaking situation no child should endure.
