A mass shooting erupted around 1 a.m. Monday outside an unauthorized warehouse party in downtown LA, reportedly associated with a Hard Summer music festival afterparty. Officers had initially shut down the party around 11 p.m., arresting one person for possessing a firearm. Shortly after they left, gunfire erupted—two people were killed (a man at the scene and a 52-year-old woman who later died in hospital), and six others were shot, some critically. Authorities haven’t yet confirmed suspect identities, motives, or whether multiple shooters were involved. Investigators remain at the scene, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Mayor Karen Bass condemned the violence, describing it as “senseless” and pledging accountability. Nearby residents described the shooting sounds as “like 100 shots,” causing chaos and panic on the streets.
