A rapidly spreading wildfire known as the Canyon Fire ignited near Lake Piru in the Los Padres National Forest on Thursday and quickly grew to over 1,500 acres within hours, with 0% containment. Fueled by extreme heat, low humidity, and rugged terrain, the blaze prompted mandatory evacuation orders for thousands of residents across Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Authorities have declared a local emergency, and more than 250 firefighters, along with helicopters and air support, are battling the flames to protect homes and lives.
