Police say father suspected of killing his 3 daughters could be hiding in the wilderness

Authorities in Washington state are conducting an intensive manhunt for 32-year-old Travis Decker, who is suspected of murdering his three young daughters—Paityn (9), Evelyn (8), and Olivia (5). The girls were reported missing on May 30 after a scheduled custody visit with their father. Tragically, their bodies were discovered on June 2 at the Rock Island Campground in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The victims were found with zip-tied wrists and plastic bags over their heads, indicating asphyxiation as the likely cause of death.

Decker, a military veteran with survival training, is believed to be hiding in the wilderness. His abandoned truck was located near the crime scene, containing blood-stained handprints and personal items. Doorbell camera footage captured him days before the incident, which authorities have released to aid in the search.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his apprehension. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and U.S. Marshals, are involved in the search.

The community has been deeply affected by this tragedy. A candlelight vigil was held in Wenatchee to honor the memory of the three sisters. Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign established to support their mother, Whitney Decker, has raised over $747,000.

Authorities urge anyone with information about Travis Decker’s whereabouts to contact 911 immediately and not to approach him.
