During a scheduled health evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, President Donald Trump received an updated COVID-19 booster alongside his annual flu shot—an effort to ensure he’s fully protected as he embarks on upcoming travel. In the memo released by his physician, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, Trump was described as exhibiting “exceptional health,” with strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance. Perhaps the most attention-grabbing detail: Trump’s “cardiac age” was assessed to be approximately 14 years younger than his actual age of 79.
The evaluation lasted about three hours and included advanced imaging, lab tests, and preventive health assessments conducted by specialists—part of a broader “ongoing health maintenance plan.” The White House framed the timing as intentional, preparing the president to travel abroad later this month. Although Trump was previously diagnosed this year with chronic venous insufficiency, a generally manageable vein condition, the doctor’s memo did not signal any serious new concerns and reaffirmed that Trump remains in excellent overall health.
