Royal Caribbean has suspended all stops at its private resort destination, Labadee in Haiti, due to escalating safety concerns tied to ongoing violence and political instability in the country. Although Labadee itself remains secure and fenced off from troubled areas, the cruise line cited an “abundance of caution” as the reason for halting visits through at least October 31, 2025. The decision follows continued unrest across Haiti, including gang violence and a Level 4 “Do Not Travel” advisory from the U.S. State Department. Dozens of sailings have been rerouted to alternate ports in the Bahamas, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands, while booked excursions are being refunded. The move highlights the growing impact of regional instability on tourism and traveler safety.
