The body of 19-year-old Dacara Thompson, who had been missing for nearly two weeks, was discovered along a Maryland highway and has now been officially identified. Authorities arrested 35-year-old Hugo Hernandez-Mendez of Bowie, Maryland, and charged him with first- and second-degree murder. Surveillance footage showed Thompson willingly entering the suspect’s vehicle before being taken to a residence where investigators believe she was killed. Her body was later found off Route 50 in Anne Arundel County. Disturbing evidence, including blood, hair, and clothing, was recovered from the suspect’s home, supporting allegations of a violent encounter. Hernandez-Mendez is currently being held without bond as the investigation continues.
