Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs denied bail after $50 million bond request

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail for the fifth time—including a newly proposed $50 million bond package—and will remain in federal custody until his sentencing on October 3, 2025

Despite being acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, Combs was convicted on two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution under the Mann Act. His lawyers argued for house arrest, electronic monitoring, and strict travel restrictions, but Judge Arun Subramanian rejected the motion, stating there were no “exceptional circumstances” to justify release—even with the posted bond

The judge cited compelling evidence at trial—testimony and surveillance showing coercion, violence, and abuse, including forced encounters known as “freak-offs” involving male escorts—to justify continued detention as a risk to witnesses and the community

Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024. He faces up to 10 years in prison per count (up to 20 years total), though federal sentencing guidelines suggest a term of roughly 3–5 years, with time already served likely to be credited
