What’s New for MINI in 2026: Upgrades, Style, & Smarter Tech

For 2026, MINI is leaning into smarter tech and broader customization, strengthening what already made its small cars and SUVs fun while adding touches that appeal to modern demands. One of the biggest changes is the widespread rollout of Digital Key Plus (for vehicles with Comfort Access built on or after July 1, 2025) — this lets drivers unlock and start their car via smartphone, simplifying what used to require a physical key‑fob. Style‑wise, MINI is expanding the John Cooper Works (JCW) Spirit without everyone having to go full JCW: the new JCW Style package is now available on all “S” trim lines (Cooper S, Countryman S), bringing in things like JCW‑inspired aero body kits, adaptive dampers, upgraded wheels, and even paddle shifters inside Iconic‑trimmed vehicles. Exterior customization options are also broader: more models can get the bolder Black Sport Stripes, and new wheel designs like the 18‑inch Asteroid Spoke (in black, all‑season tires) become available (in some trims) at no extra cost — especially for the Countryman S ALL4. Interior touches and standard equipment also get a boost: features like wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, heated front seats, and upgraded audio/sound systems are more widely included by default. Overall, while the core design (brand styling, control layout, go‑kart handling feel) remains intact, these updates give MINI buyers more flexibility, more value, and more convenience — letting them choose how sporty or tech‑rich they want their ride, without always going to the highest trim.
