Winners and losers from U.S. track and field championships

Sprint standout Melissa Jefferson‑Wooden dominated the women’s sprints, sweeping both the 100 m (10.65 s) and 200 m (21.84 s), while Kenny Bednarek claimed his first national 100 m title in a PB of 9.79 s. In the men’s 200 m, Noah Lyles took gold in a world-leading 19.63 s, but the celebration was marred when Bednarek shoved him post-race, sparking headlines. On the women’s side, Sydney McLaughlin‑Levrone delivered a season-best 48.90 s to win the flat 400 m, and veteran Dalilah Muhammad added the 400 m hurdles title. The middle-distance saw Donavan Brazier win the men’s 800 m in 1:42.16, with teenage phenom Cooper Lutkenhaus running 1:42.27 and Bryce Hoppel taking bronze in 1:42.49—while top contenders Josh Hoey and Brandon Miller just missed World Championship qualification. Roisin Willis pulled off an upset in the women’s 800 m (1:59.26), and field events featured standout wins by Masai Russell (women’s 100 m hurdles), Nikki Hiltz (women’s 1500 m), Jonah Koech (men’s 1500 m), and champions like Reggie Jagers, Chase Jackson, and Jasmine Moore.
