Authorities have confirmed that the suspect in the recent Evergreen High School shooting near Denver was a 16-year-old student named Desmond Holly. The incident unfolded shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when Holly opened fire with a revolver, injuring two students—one inside the school, who remains in critical condition, and another outside, who was described as having non-life-threatening injuries. As law enforcement and school staff moved swiftly, students took shelter, and authorities secured the campus. During the response, Holly turned the weapon on himself and later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  In a chilling twist, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office stated that Holly appeared to have been “radicalized by some extremist network,” though investigations are underway to uncover the nature of his motivations and connections.  The tragedy has left the community in shock and mourning, as officials continue to piece together how the young student was able to access the gun and what steps might be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
